MiPT

(Methylisopropyltryptamine)

TrippyWiki score: 6.1/10

What is MiPT?

MiPT (Methylisopropyltryptamine) is a psychedelic substance of the tryptamine class. Unlike other tryptamines and psychedelics in general, the MiPT experience is not nearly as visual and a lot more auditory.

Long-term benefits & side effects

Many of the benefits will only occur if you follow the tips below.
Most (if not all) of the side effects are preventable and they will not happen if you follow the Safety checklist.

How to take MiPT

Always test your substance with a Marquis Reagent Testing Kit before you put it in your mouth.

Administration

Since MiPT is orally active, the most common route of administration is by swallowing the drug.

You can also smoke the drug, snort it, plug it, or take it intramuscularly.

Each of these methods will lead to a similar experience but the duration and the intensity of your trip will vary greatly.

Smoking MiPT

Smoking is generally not recommended.

Not only are we not sure about the long-term effects of MiPT on your lungs but the onset is also very fast. This may feel overwhelming and it is the reason why people tend to get less paranoid when they use the other routes of administration.

The easiest way to smoke the drug is with a glass pipe. Make sure that it ends with a ball. The bigger the ball, the better.

If you have a torch lighter that creates a blue flame, use it instead of a regular lighter.

Before you smoke the substance, put a metal tray or a ceramic plate next to you. The pipe will be hot and you don’t want to burn your carpet or set your neighborhood on fire.

If you have a trip-sitter, let him hold the pipe as you are inhaling.

Hold the fire 2-3 inches (5-8 cm) below the pipe. Rotate the pipe and wait for the drug to turn into smoke.

The smoke should be very light and clear. If it’s thick, you’re probably overheating the substance.

Inhale the smoke slowly and gently, then hold it in your lungs for as long as you can.

How to snort MiPT

Split the dose into halves and snort the substance to both of your nostrils.

Lay down to not let the drug fall out of your nose.

How to plug MiPT

Empty your bowels before you take the substance rectally.

Mix every 10 mg of the drug with 0.1 ml of filtered water. Let the drug completely dissolve into the water.

Use a 1 ml syringe, put the liquid into it and plug the substance into your a#s.

You need to put the syringe deep enough but not too deep either. What will help you achieve this is putting a rubber band around the 0.6 ml. That way, you will know when to stop.

After you pour the liquid into your system, wait for 1-2 minutes, then pour the syringe out and go lay on your bed or the ground.

Plugging seems to be the most efficient way to take the drug because it will allow you to trip for longer.

Some people don’t notice any effects when they plug the substance but this isn’t common.

Dosage

Whatever dose you are going to take, make sure to use an accurate, 0.001g scale or a micro scoop to measure your substance. Micro scoops are cheaper and might be more accurate.

Oral

  • 5 mg = Threshold dose
  • 5-10 mg = Light dose
  • 10-25 mg = Regular dose
  • 25-75 mg = Strong dose
  • 75+ mg = High dose

Different routes of administration require different doses, sometimes just 1/5th of the amounts above.

Since the drug is likely to cause an extremely intense experience, always start with a light dose and build your way up gradually.

Do not take a high dose if you don’t have a trip sitter nearby.

Your weight also influences the dose you should take to some extent. If you weigh a lot, you might need to take more of the substance than other people.

Safety checklist

Maximize the benefits

Integration is an important part of the experience although if you stay aware during your trip, it may not be as important as with other psychedelics.

What will help you the most to integrate the experience is contemplating about the experience – be it by journaling, thinking about the trip, or sharing your memories with a trusted friend.

Distracting thoughts can get in the way, which is why you want to spend the day after your trip without TV, social media, and other distractions.

If you can, spend time in silence and solitude. Meditate, go for a walk, contemplate the experience.

Duration

Oral:
Onset = 20-40 minutes
Come up =
20-40 minutes
Peak =
1-2 hours
Come down =
1-3 hours

What MiPT feels like

The effects of MiPT are similar to those of a more popular DiPT. The main difference is in the strength of these drugs.

Unlike other tryptamines and psychedelics in general, the MiPT experience is not nearly as visual and a lot more auditory.

The visuals are minor. If they occur, they look like DMT visuals but a lot weaker.

The drug can produce extreme auditory distortions. The most common auditory effect is that the drug lowers the pitch of sounds.

The auditory effects last for much longer than the cognitive effects.

MiPT also puts pressure on your inner ear which can cause pain but it isn’t dangerous.

Other short-term effects include:

Euphoria
Mindfulness, being extremely present
Extreme capability for love and compassion

Pain relief
Keeping your body in symmetry
Completely disconnecting from this reality
Feeling your emotions more intensely
Time distortion

Confusion
Increased body temperature
Increased heart rate
Anxiety, paranoia

Vulnerability

Of course, the higher dose you take, the more intense these effects will be and the higher the chance to reach a breakthrough.

With that said, the only way to truly know what MiPT feels like is to try it.

The experience isn’t always positive. You can, however, minimize the chance of a bad trip.

Bad trips

Why they happen

The most common reasons for getting a bad trip are:

  • Rejecting to let go and trying to hold on to your ego and control the state
  • Tripping in an unsafe environment (in public, at a party, even nature doesn’t feel safe if you take higher doses)
  • Facing difficult times in your day-to-day life (a break-up, death of a loved one, …)
  • Being afraid of the trip (either because of the stigma around psychedelics or because you are not sure how pure your substance is)
  • Mixing the psychedelic with alcohol, weed, or other drugs
  • Expecting a bad trip (it can easily become a self-fulfilling prophecy)

How to cope with a bad trip

  • Do not perceive this experience as something bad, remember that facing these difficult emotions is extremely healing
  • Fully surrender to the experience, do not try to feel good

How to end a bad trip

In case the trip becomes extremely challenging and there is no one around you to keep you safe, consider ending your trip with a trip killer.

Using a trip killer usually is not the best idea because the bad emotions will stay unresolved and you will get little to no benefits from the experience. With that said, using a trip killer is smarter than harming yourself.

The 2 best options that you have for ending a bad trip are Phenibut and benzodiazepines.

Phenibut is generally safer. The downside is that it can take hours to kick in.

So to end a trip, use benzodiazepines but only do this if you completely have to.

Interactions

  • Qualia Mind
This nootropic is comprised of 28 ingredients designed to support and maximize your brain function. These ingredients act synergistically and many of them will protect you from the neurotoxic effects of psychedelics. Qualia will also make your trips more pleasant and help you retain more benefits from them.
  • Herbs
Herbs can help calm you down. Herbal teas (chamomile, lemon balm, valerian root, …) are especially helpful.
  • Green tea
Tea makes you both more alert and calm at the same time. It also contains neuroprotective antioxidants, such as EGCG.
  • CBD
    CBD has a calming effect.
  • LSD or Magic mushrooms
MiPT is extremely strong on its own so be careful when mixing it with other psychedelics.
  • Weed
Marijuana will greatly intensify the trip.
  • Dissociatives
Combining dissociatives with psychedelics won’t necessarily cause you harm but it can be confusing and lead to bad trips.
  • Nitrous oxide
Nitrous oxide will multiply the intensity of your trip.
  • Benzodiazepines (Valium, Xanax, …)
Benzos will end your psychedelic experience within 40 minutes but using this method may cause you side effects in the long run.
  • Alcohol
Alcohol minimizes all the potential benefits of a psychedelic experience. It also greatly increases your chance of having a bad trip.
  • MAOIs, SSRIs, and RIMAs
Combining these with tryptamines can lead to serotonin syndrome and might even be lethal.
  • Lithium
Combining psychedelics with lithium significantly increases the risk of seizures and psychosis.
  • Stimulants
The combination can easily lead to heart problems, even if you’re a healthy individual.
  • Tramadol
Combining the two can cause seizures.
  • St. John’s Wort
This combination may lead to serotonin syndrome.

Legality

As of 2021, MiPT is illegal in the UK, Germany, Sweden, New Zealand, and a few other countries.

The drug is not scheduled in the US but you may still get in legal trouble for possessing it because of The Federal Analogue Act.

In some countries, you can legally buy MiPT from RC companies for chemical research purposes. More on this below.

In many countries, MiPT is decriminalized. Therefore, taking the substance or owning a small amount should not get you in legal trouble.

Buying MiPT legally from the internet

Research chemicals like MiPT may be completely legal in your country as long as you buy them for “chemical research” purposes. You cannot consume them legally but whether or not anyone cares is a different story.

Perhaps the best provider of research chemicals is Chemical Collective.

Their products are cheap, the company is extremely reliable and they will deliver the chemicals to you within 10-20 days. In case the package gets lost, you can ask them to send you a new one and they will.

Some research chemicals may not be legal where you live so always check the legality status of your country before you buy any substance.

FAQ

Always take the drug in a safe place where you feel comfortable. Make sure there are no strangers around and that nobody will bother you during your trip.

It is recommended to have a trip sitter next to you.

If you are a mentally stable individual who does not suffer from psychosis or have a predisposition to schizophrenia, there is virtually no way you would develop any mental illnesses because of taking this psychedelic.

The drug can be detected in your urine for around 24 hours after you’ve taken it.

With that said, you do not have to be afraid that anyone would test you for MiPT.

The drug has a distinct smell and taste that you cannot compare with anything else.

Most people do not like the taste of the smoke but it isn’t unbearable either.

Keep the powder in a cold dark place, preferably with no air.

If you don’t do this, the substance will quickly lose potency.

Do not eat before you take the drug. It can cause you nausea and make you vomit.

If you need to eat some food, do so 4-5 hours before tripping and keep your meal light.

Yes, but it is not recommended.

The MiPT experience is intense beyond what you can imagine. Having at least some experience with other psychedelics, such as LSD or magic mushrooms, will help you tremendously.

  • Beginner psychonauts
  • Immature people who are not willing to follow the safety guidelines
  • People who suffer from psychosis
  • People who have a familial history of schizophrenia
  • Those who suffer from HPPD
  • People who are going through a manic phase of bipolar disorder
  • If you’re going through extremely challenging times, you can take psychedelics but the trips might be unpleasant, beware of that

Thank you for taking psychedelics responsibly, immature psychonauts are the last thing the psychedelic movement needs.

And thank you for being a part of this renaissance. Together, we can change the world!
